Education candidates need to consider the following regarding Area F common courses:

EDUC 2110: Investigating Critical and Contemporary Issues in Education provides an overview of the critical and contemporary issues facing the field of professional educators, including social and political contexts of education settings in Georgia and the United States. Ten hours of directed field experience in a high school setting are required.

EDUC 2120: Exploring Socio-Cultural Perspectives on Diversity in Education Contexts provides an exploration of the fundamental knowledge for understanding the culture and teaching of children from diverse backgrounds. Ten hours of directed field experience in a middle school setting are required.

EDUC 2130: Exploring Learning and Teaching offers an exploration of key aspects of learning and teaching, with direct applications to the enhancement of learning in a variety of educational settings and contexts. Ten hours of directed field experience in an elementary school setting are required.

Importantly, please know that each course requires a different setting. Hence, candidates taking these courses simultaneously need to plan to travel to different school sites.
