Spring Interns: GACE Computer Competency
January 2, 2008 |
Attention: COE Interns Seeking Licensure this Spring
This message is for anyone who plans to graduate in May and did not take the AssessOnline Computer Competency test offered by the state of Georgia for certification purposes. This test officially ended on Sept. 30th because the state decided not to renew their contract with that testing agency. There is now a new test that everyone seeking licensure in Georgia must take, if you haven’t taken EDUC 3100 or EDUC 6100. Click here for a link to help you prepare for the test.
The cost for the test is $35. Since it’s a brand new test, they haven’t determined a passing score yet for the test. That won’t be determined until Feb. 28th. You may take the test before Feb. 28th, but they won’t be able to tell you prior to that date whether or not you passed. We will be discussing this test at the Internship II Orientation meeting on the 9th, so hopefully all your questions will be answered at that time. Anyone who is interested in taking the test on January 9th when you come for your Internship Orientation is welcome to do so, but you must bring a credit card and another form of ID, since you will be charged $35 by GACE for this test. The times the test will be given on Jan. 9th are:1 - 3 PM
or
3 - 5 PM
The next opportunity to take the test won’t be until Feb. 28th, which is the same day as the Educators Career Fair at AASU. If you would like to sign up to take it on that date instead, it will be offered on Feb. 28th at the following times:
10 - 12 Noon
or
2 - 4 PM
Please call Sarah at 961-3063 to sign up for either date listed above. She’ll need your name, number, and what time you plan to take the test on Jan. 9th or Feb. 28th.
Thanks,
Wendy Marshall
